How to use this calculator
Enter one price for each recurring purchase or import your own CSV. The calculator uses only those user-provided prices and a current price you enter; it does not fetch market data or fabricate a price history. Purchase frequency estimates the time span between equally spaced rows.
How the calculation works
Units per purchase = cash amount allocated ÷ entered purchase price. Total cost = allocated cash plus the percentage fee on each purchase. Average cost = total cost ÷ total units; current value = total units × entered current price. Approximate schedule span = (purchase count − 1) ÷ purchases per year.
Worked example
If you allocate $100 at a user-entered price of $10, you acquire 10 units before fees. A later $100 purchase at $20 adds 5 units, so the weighted average uses 15 total units rather than averaging the two prices equally.
Assumptions and limitations
This is a user-entered transaction worksheet, not a historical backtest or tax-lot ledger. Frequency only estimates the time span from first to last price row; it does not change the units or profit calculation. It excludes spreads, fixed fees, network fees, staking, transfers, taxes, and execution differences.
