How to use this calculator
Enter your buy price, current or sale price, quantity, and the percentage fee charged on each side of the trade.
How the calculation works
Buy cost basis = buy price × quantity × (1 + buy fee). Net sale proceeds = sale price × quantity × (1 − sell fee). Net profit/loss = net proceeds − cost basis; break-even sale price = buy price × (1 + buy fee) ÷ (1 − sell fee).
Worked example
For 0.1 coin bought at $40,000 with a 0.1% buy fee and sold at $42,000 with a 0.1% sell fee, buy cost is $4,004, net proceeds are $4,195.80, and modeled net profit is $191.80 before taxes and other costs.
Assumptions and limitations
Fees are percentage-of-notional estimates entered by the user. The model excludes fixed fees, spread, slippage, network charges, funding, custody costs, and taxes. It uses no live prices and does not determine tax basis under any jurisdiction’s rules.
